1920 to 1950 go stones or goke were pulled from partial sets

Rare Japanese Ranma Pair Deeply Carved Transom Screen Sugi Wood 68" Chinese Having been carefully used decadesThe Japanese Ranma is a decorative and functional carving used above a door way to allow airflow and light to pass though. They are exquisitely hand carved from sugi Japanese cedar. A typical ranma may be from 1 2" thick to 1 1 2" thick. These two are unusual in that the single pieces of wood carving extends beyond the boundaries of the edges in all three directions at 3" thick. It is approximately 67. 5" x 14. 5" x 3" and weighs in at 15lbs
